Munkácsy Mihály Museum

Munkácsy Mihály Museum

If you only have time for one museum in Csaba, make it this one. Besides the works of Mihály Munkácsy, the building on Széchenyi utca shows archaeological finds and local history and folk collections, so you also get a picture of the past of the town and the region. The Jankay–Kolozsváry–Tevan collection is here too.

The museum is open every day except Monday from 10 am to 6 pm. Tickets are sold until 5:30 pm and the halls start closing at 5:50 pm, so do not leave it for the last half hour.

Tip: the museum and the Munkácsy Memorial House fit comfortably into one morning. The Grain Museum on Gyulai út, next to CsabaPark, also belongs to the museum; it is open from April to October, Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Opening hours

Tuesday–Sunday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (ticket office until 5:30 pm), closed on Mondays
